Pershore Old Bridge

This bridge crosses the River Avon at Pershore in Worcestershire.  Th e market town of Pershore is halfway between Evesham and Upton on Severn and is known for being a centre for plum and pear growing.  This is the old bridge over the river - the main road now goes over a  nearby bridge.  Pershore also has a beautiful old abbey which you can see in the distance on this shot.

I went to Pershore today to meet up with friends from all over the country who at one time were part of the youth musical scene in Worcestershire.  Most of the ten who were there today played an orchestral instrument of some kind.  I played the piano and accompanied most of them for their exams or any concert performances they did.  Happy times!  Not up to public performances these days but we had a good lunch at "The Angel".
