Multnomah Channel

That's the name for the waterway between the mainland and Sauvie Island. It begins in the Willamette river near Portland, then 21 miles later connects to Columbia river, to which Willamette has also merged. We often walk on the banks of the Channel, as we did today. I was taking pictures of a sailboat motoring by, but liked the wake of it better. The extras are of the dike, looking green and luscious. A local nursery uses a good portion of this area to grow their plants.
