Chile > Argentina

The border crossing between these two countries is situated smack bang in the middle of the Andes mountain range. This time of year the snow is meant to be melting however our week in Santiago was freezing and as a result the road was closed all week. The sunshine came out the day we left and we were very lucky to get to Argentina - (the alternative would have been an expensive 30 plus hour bus ride to the next closest border crossing). We sat with out faces glued to the window the entire 10 hours - so beautiful.
On arriving in Mendoza on the Saturday night of a long weekend in Chile and Argentina, every hostel and hotel was fully booked! This resulted in wandering the streets with our heavy backpacks at 9pm, cold and looking for a bed. The night ended with is having to sleep in different hostels as each only had one single bunk and they refused to let us share. The separation was very hard but 10 hours later we were reunited :-)
