Hiking in the city - San Cristobal Hill

Santiago is surrounded by snow capped mountains, which were covered by the smog for the last 3 days but today they showed their beauty. San Cristobal Hill sits right in the middle of the city, so today we hiked up the steep incline to the virgin Mary on top. Despite the freezing weather, the view was breathtaking, as we saw Santiago spread out in front of us. We walked down followed by many stray dogs who loved the attention we gave them. We ate peanut butter sandwiches in a park surrounded by 13 year old school girls who tried to use the little English they had to speak to us. It was funny to see the 5 giggling girls laugh and joke with Cameron, I think they liked the male attention! That afternoon to escape the cold we headed to the tallest tower in South America (the one you can see in the pic) for some retail therapy. H&M has some really nice clothes at the moment which we are now the proud owners of...whoops! Cam also managed to find a Star Wars shirt which he probably will not take off until the movie comes out in Dec!
