Music on Mondays #2
Today saw the second in the series of brief lunchtime performances I am trying to establish as a 'habit' amongst students and staff this year - just fifteen minutes of music to brighten the day. Today's performer was our IT teacher/Dept Head and veritable guitarist / singer, who played to a packed house at 11.50 where the crowd of very enthusiastic students meant there was hardly room to breathe - standing room only - and then again at 13.15 to a smaller, but equally appreciative group of older students and teachers. Performance included "Buck Dancer's Choice" Taj Mahal (here) and "Loan me a dime" - Boz Scaggs (here) both of which were new to me and thus I am enhanced.
Meanwhile, kitty round up, as mentioned yesterday, was a bit of a non-event but at least they took away the five that live near the music rooms (Persembe's nieces and nephews). These youngsters (about 6-7 months old now) will be spayed/neutered and inoculated, and brought back to campus on Thursday when the council vets will repeat the process with another group of campus kitties. Four or five at a time - it's gonna take a while...
