Bryce Canyon National Park, Utah
Altitude-8,000 ft (2500 meters)
A brisk 40 degrees today with freezing rain dropping from the clouds.
We made several trips to the rim, but couldn't see into the canyon. I figured we'd leave here without seeing a single Hoodoo.
About 3:00 pm, the skies brightened, and we high-tailed it to Sunset Point. Happily we captured a few images with a bit of sun on those funky Hoodoos.
The park's named after Brother Ebenezer Bryce. A carpenter who settled his family here in 1875. Spent his time helping the community by building roads to haul timber and digging irrigation ditches.
Brother Eb's famous quote about the canyon that bears his name, "It’s a hell of a place to lose a cow"
Which I hope shows his sense of humor and not insight into his daily life.
