"The Reader"

I have taken the liberty of naming this statue, as it appeared to have none.
We are in the grounds of Hirosake Castle, Kyoto.
Today we travelled south three hours from Hokkaido by train, passing through a 53 Kilometer tunnel under the strait that separates the two islands of Hokkaido and Honshu at a maximum depth of 240 metres below sea level.,
This delightful statue shows a man with a large block of wood on his shoulders, walking along and calmly reading as he goes.
It is breathtaking, set beside a lake full of carp, and with the glorious aurumnal foliage colours all around.
It was difficult to choose one photo that encapsulated the day, but this one seemed the most appropriate.
Hope you like it.
