Heather

Heather plants are very hardy, colourful, low growing perennial shrubs native to heaths, moors and woodlands. Scotland is usually associated with purple heather, but in garden centres you can see almost any colour. However Scottish-grown create robust and sturdy plants and I picked up a couple of pink ones for the patio as this will looks so cheering as days grow shorter.
