Acrobats
For some time now only one pigeon that hangs around the garden seems to have mastered the art of perching precariously on the feeders, as opposed to waiting for the seeds to fall to the ground through the smaller birds pecking away. I blipped this clever acrobat on 24th Sept at a conventional feeder and stitched two different pictures together to give an effect of two birds.
This morning I saw two pigeons simultaneously flapping furiously at the same feeder. This Squirrel-buster feeder, as it's called, seems also to be a pigeon-buster, but only if there are two of them on the circular perch. Then their combined weight pulls down the metal shields over the feeding openings!
