Tiny Bali

Well, actually not so tiny really but in relation to his mum this 6 week old rhino, Bali,  is tiny.  He was born at Whipsnade Zoo on September 6th and weighed in at 12 stones!!!  He is just too cute for words.

It was a last minute decision to go to the zoo but I wanted to see this little one before he got too big.  I texted a friend to see if she wanted to tag along and, yes, she did!  the weather turned out just perfect as well. Having spent an age watching and waiting near the rhino enclosure, we then went to see the elephants.  Our luck was in as they were just about to go for a walk.  We tagged along!
Many elephant shots later and lots of chats with other photographers (all bemoaning the fact that any decent photos would need an age in Photoshop to remove the fence) we wandered on to find a cup of tea and a cake!  One extra f the baby elephant - still tiny although now just over a year old.

A quick look in the Butterfly House and then home.  Camera Club tonight and the second round in our Club Challenge Competition.
