Robin as blackbird

Unfazed by the noise of the St Joan party, the little robins have continued to be busy. all day the female (?) I think has been popping in and out of the nest site with a beak full of worms or moths or larvae.

Husband is more taken up with sitting on a branch observing, but not visiting the site, and doesn't seem to be too interested in helping. Well it is sunday after all and a man needs his rest.

Whether that means they have hatched a brood or whether I have misread the scenario and we have a male collecting food for a brooding female with a love rival standing by, i can't tell.

Anyway as the bright afternoon wore on the food collector became blasé and I was able to get this quite pleasing silhouette effect against the heat from the pool surround. (34 degrees today and rising)
