Chives

I am so delighted to see yesterday's tui flying high in the Popular Pages, thanks to you all for give it lots of hearts and stars. It was such a thrill to finally capture that movement.

A bit of a quieter image for today, the chives are already flowering...and it is only spring. I do love their flowers, and they are really nice broken up and added to salads, the flavour as well as the colour just so good.

It is a long weekend, and as always at the lake the holiday homes are filling up, and lots of friends arriving who we haven't seen for much of the winter. I was outside doing gardens and mowing lawns this afternoon, but rather slow as I ended up catching up with a lot of people. Labour weekend traditionally is the start of summer and time to plant the vegetable garden. Bought 4 tomatoes plants the other day so popped those in today. Will put more in later.
