Yes, It Is Raining

Hurricane Patricia, the most powerful storm ever in the Western Hemisphere, passed by our fair city today on its way to Puerto Vallarta. No big winds, even though it has sustained winds of 200 MPH offshore, but lots and lots of rain. I couldn't ride into town of course, even though I saw others on bicycles, so I took a combi to check on the storm. It was raining so hard at times that even the cars needed umbrellas. Throughout the market it was business as usual. Residents are incredibly resilient, even a category five hurricane off the coast stalls were open and people were shopping, though most had umbrellas or some other kind of rain covering (see the extras).
