and through the wire...

Aye aye min fit like the day?

In the past 2 months we have had more train journeys than we have had in the past 2 decades! Today it was a day trip up to the Granite City, Aberdeen, to catch up with Ms E who is studying up there. The Forth Road Bridge was shut for some work meaning a longer drive, so we thought the train should take the strain.

It was raining when we left and raining when we arrived, but it took a coffee shop and a free museum for the sun to come out in all its glory - it was warm, it was blue sky, so we headed down to the beach.

Aberdeen is not a city I have visited much, maybe 3 times, 1st time was 32 years ago with Mrs C where we found the Inversnecky Cafe and had a Mars Delight. What, you chop up a mars bar and put in ice-cream, wow! It's still on the menu, but we had a take away instead.

There's some extras of the impressive harbour control building and then the Fittie... Footdee... Foot of the River Dee... a small fishing village with some elaborate outhouses, quite lovely.

It was good to see Ms E and have a wander round, we'll catch up again at Christmas.
