Angel of the North
Today's travels took us up the M1 to Corbridge in Northumbria where we are staying overnight with friends. At least the weather was dry and the driving conditions a lot better than they were on Friday when we traveled south on the M6.
Passed the Angel of the North on a few occasions, but decided to stop today for a quick blip. It was a chance to see the statue close up and get a better idea of its size and rusty steel structure.
In keeping with the rest of this trip, we went out for a wonderful pub dinner at the Black Bull in Corbridge where more good food and wine was consumed and a few more mm added to the waistline.
Tomorrow we head for Renfrew where we both hope to catch up with some friends and former colleagues.
