Feel good friday
This week had been a good week, even though Kanye was in hospital(which doesn't even feel like this week).
I wont lie, its been long and we're tired but i think at least with the exception of Tuesday its been alright. We got through it and i am getting through my large bag of coffee beans along with it.
Marley got a certificate in assembly today for showing school values -fun and respect. Though there was a tiny hiccup, as his teacher went to present certificates she realized that Marley was at the dental nurse.
She came over to me after she did the other 2 certificates and said they'd called him over for a check up and then i reminded her he was now under the hospitals care for that , so i went over and Mar was finishing up with the dentist as i got there.
I said to the dental nurses (who i'm guessing didn't read his notes) that he was under the hospital clinics care for teeth and that he was going in a couple of weeks to have preventative work done, the dentist stuck her head out and said she was just adding that to his notes so that was good, she said that they're onto it.
sigh.
This actually happens more than you would believe, clinics and hospital not talking to each other or reading patient notes despite them now having online files and i can tell you especially with a child like Kanye where he has a lot of stuff that needs to be read it can be frustrating to have to relay it when really he needs medical attention. I digress.
Anyway Marley's teacher came over and we went back to assembly, the other classes were finishing up their certificates being handed out so Marley's teacher popped up and gave Marley his! So proud of my wee guy!
After i saw Marley at assembly i had to drop off Kanyes supplement milks to his school. they were at morning tea and in the playground.
Its really awesome to see so many of the main stream kids playing so well with the special needs wee guys. No matter where i've been this is true, kids just take care of them. When Kanye was at main stream the kids would look out for him, play with him , encourage him. I think kids who are around special needs kids become more caring and empathetic, less judgmental - not that kids these age are but i think it sticks with them to think about others.
There is a wee girl who had taken to Kanye and every lunch time she seeks Kanye out, they hold hands and walk around the playground together, Kanye loves her . I thanked her for being his friend and taking such good care of him, she said he was her good friend and he was always happy.
Makes your heart melt hey?
My wonderful little guys made me smile today!
