Kaka

Large native New Zealand parrot.  

This is not my best photo of the day - but I like the fact that there are two kaka in it - and you can see the underwing colour of one of them.

And bits of it are in focus!

I spent a wonderful day at Karori Bird Sanctuary (Zelandia).  

Then had a great dinner at Monsoon Poon restaurant in Wellington before flying back to Nelson.  Staying in Nelson tonight because I can't pick Jasper up from the dog orphanage until tomorrow afternoon.
