Nicky and her Nikon

Mudeford, Dorset

This morning it was bright and sunny, but quite cold. After breakfast we went to see Highcliff Castle, which was built in the 1840's but fell into disrepair in the 1960's, but has subsequently been rescued by English Heritage. We had wonderful clear.views across the bay onto The Needles next to the Isle of Wight.

We then went to Mudeford, and caught the ferry across the channel to see the Mudeford beach huts. They are colourful, charming little wooden beach huts that these days sell for ridiculous amounts. One recently sold for £225 000 - it was 4m by 4m, had no electricity or running water but had solar power. This is a view of Mudeford at very low tide, taken from the other side of the bay (with my new long lens). I have included another shot of a boat on the bay, and one of Thomas taken from a distance with him being unaware of me and my camera.

We had a relaxing afternoon back at the hotel, watching the rugby. I do admire the Argentinians, they have done so well to get to the semi finals. Home tomorrow morning!
