Pheasant in the Early Sun

Decided to get out of bed early and take a look to see if the seals are on the beach, and was hopeful I might get a decent sunrise blip.  No such luck as it happens I should have gone at the other end of the day as we had a spectacular sunset which I couldn't get out to capture!  I did see some wonderful murmurations, and caught sight of a few seals venturing on to the beach.  My photo of choice is the glorious pheasant I saw on the drive home.  the sun caught it just right and made his feathers such a rich colour.

I decided after all the stresses at work I wanted a quiet , homely weekend so I lit the fire and baked.  Date and Walnut loaf followed by Christmas cake that was still in the oven at sunset and the reason  I couldn't go out!

By  the way I'm back blipping this and have seen that the first seal pup was born today!
