Penzance Prom
Today it has rained pretty much all day. Boohoo.
Ann had to go to Penzance so she said, ‘Molly, you might as well come with me and I’ll take you for your walk along Penzance Promenade’.
It was high tide, it was raining and it was very stormy.
We were pretty sensible and stayed away from the sea but we still got absolutely soaked. A huge wave came and crashed right over the prom and ended up on the road and we got drenched.
...................And the ridiculous thing is........................ there were people playing at dodging the waves by attempting to run through them. Do they not realise that the sea is very strong and very dangerous? Mad, stupid holiday makers!! Ann was so concerned about two little toddlers, (that could easily have been swept under the railings and dragged out to sea), that she actually spoke to their mummy & daddy. Just call her a nosey old busybody??
She said, ‘I’m a local and I know what devastation the sea can cause. The sea is stronger than your children.’ The mummy & daddy just looked at her as if she were mad and said, ‘It’s just a bit of fun!’ ..................At which point a wave crashed over the railings further up the prom and knocked over a bigger kid. Point made!!!
And then we went for a little walk through Penlee Park and round to the boating lake because Ann didn’t want to witness any nasty accidents said it was too dangerous on the prom for little collies.
...........And by 3.30pm it was almost dark. And it’s now 5.30pm and it’s still raining.
Welcome to winter!!!
