York Minster across the chimney tops

A day in York, visiting another National Trust property - The Treasurer's House near the Minster. Not really my cup of tea. The story of the house was limited to its last owner, whose name escapes me and gave nothing away about any of the history of previous owners. There was also a Vivien Leigh exhibition on in the house, which appears to be entirely unrelated to the story of the house.

We listened to a few ghostly stories but as the cellars were closed until next year we were unable to experience the space where in 1953 the ghosts of a Roman Legion were supposed to have been heard and seen marching along the course of a Roman road which passed through the area which is now the cellar of this property.

We had a bit of a walk around the City Walls and through the old streets and finished up having some food at Kennedys on Little Stonegate Street. We were heading elsewhere but they had a board outside advertising Monday Madness 50% off all food orders. Couldn't resist it. Had the cheeseboard for dessert and there was far more cheese than I could manage.
