Mono Lake, California

Last night we stayed in Mammoth Lakes - never have we met such an obliging host as at the Travelodge - he grabbed our bags and carried them up to our second floor room, moved his truck so we could park close to the door ...... and smiled all the time ..... we could see the snow covered mountains from the balcony! Not the swankiest of rooms decoratively (mainly used by groups of hunters/fishers/skiers I would imagine) but clean and fine for a night!

Leaving Mammoth Lakes and heading for Merced ..... our intention is to go through Yosemite National Park - looking on the map I remember flying over Mono Lake in 2005 and thinking it looked like an eye! Let's go see it at ground level!

This photo is Mono Lake (SOOC) - hard to choose a shot as it is so beautiful there and I took a lot of pictures - it's well worth a visit.
