High excitement
I am sure that sharp eyed amongst you will have spotted that this image was taken with a new camera. It arrived yesterday and rather than the paltry 42x optical zoom of my last one, this one manages a cool(pix) 60x.
Curlews like this are normally wary and so I needed the full zoom to get this image. Looking at it, one then realises that Curlews are not the dull brown birds one often perceives but are beautifully and subtly coloured.
As for their beak - well this one is at the longer and sillier end. Probably a female.
Otherwise a quiet day with Tricia at school. Grimsay market was its normal genial self in the afternoon and the cake provided a welcome relief from today's fasting.
