An interesting cherub

I was in the general area today so I just popped back to Greys Court to blip this strange figure. There are actually 4 of them perched on a high wall and they appear to be cute little cherubs dressed in warlike apparel. I just think his stance is so whimsical. There must be a story behind them and I made a mental note to look them up on google when I got home. But I can't find anything. Now I will have to go back again just to ask one of the guides.
