Because I didn't quite have enough for dinner....
Bath time, why anyone would do this before dinner I have no idea, and quite a few seem to out here. Why, oh why, oh why would you do that. He get's covered, it's great fun, and if you're lucky, he'll get the spoon flicking just right so you also get covered. The bonus is that I find bits of food on my at strange times of the day.
We've also discovered our feet - and they are just great. They are the best if you try to eat them, thumb sucking is going out of fashion and big-toe sucking is the new thing.
Today was one of those days... The boy was sick all over my shoulder just as I left the (lovely) cafe just before swimming, so that was washed out and didn't dry ready for after swimming, then my shoe strap broke as I caught it on the door leaving swimming, and then the push-chair hood came off. All on the day when I was having lunch with a friend and really didn't need all these things going wrong. We survived, I'd say it comes in three's, but I had a second dousing of sick when I got home.
We have also been seeing more wildlife, this time it was a snake laying across our path on an evening walk. I was out with four dogs and Alex, going to meet Dirk at the pen to help feed. One of the dogs is rather lazy and I spend much of the walks looking behind me telling her to catch up - thankfully, she was ahead and my attention was drawn to something that the dogs were looking at. That something was about 4 - 5ft long, reared up at the dogs before slinking off up a near-by tree. I pathetically called the dogs away (they didn't listen, why would they) and turned around in the other direction (two days running there). I did deem myself brave enough to walk past the snake riddled tree, as logic dictated that it was now about 20ft away and it had run (slithered) away from us, so I was (hopefully) safe. I was. No idea what kind of snake it was and I'm going to keep it that way.
