And another one

The opposite of yesterday -  a sunny morning which deteriorated as the day wore on becoming grey and drizzly in the afternoon.

This is the view looking down from the main bedroom window, into the corner of the patio where the virginia creeper is almost past its best but is lit up by the fading morning sun.

My last booked turn this season at Wittersham Road signalbox on the Kent and East Sussex Railway today, which is where the two additional shots were taken. No turns during the Santa Specials unless a vacancy arises for any reason.

A quiet day in the box. I invited a couple of people up to have a look around. They were on the platform watching the arrival and departure of a steam train - in itself an unusual event at Wittersham. I thought I saw two figures at the far end of the platform but couldn't be sure with all the steam and dankness. They were still there when the train had departed.

A 4 train service today which meant an early finish at 4.15 rather than 5.15pm and eliminated the need to take out the signal lamps to the furthest outreaches of the station limits. Not the best of jobs to do. They will be needed tomorrow and Saturday as there are "fright night" specials running over Halloween.
