I like the way that the flowerfriday challenge is gradually becoming more 'challenge' than 'flower' as the seasons change ...!
It was a day of cisterns and fireplace repairs - things have been much neglected with all the travelling to and fro. My Mrs Heath-Robinson efforts have served me well (... I think my admission to the holy order of 'Cistertians' is due after my successful postulancy) ... but I am having to repeat the previous procedure and seem to have caused great amusement at the local builder's supply ... personally, I call it creative plumbing.
I had a brief foray up Great Mell (extra) to take in the air following yet more carer strife. It is such a fraught business. Less that 12 hours from getting back from Norfolk on Sunday night the calls started again with a subtle emotional blackmail that we are powerless to influence because of mum's vulnerability. You would think after all the turmoil of the last couple of months that the company would endeavour to keep things as stable as possible for her. We have a carer that knows us and mum and wants to fill the gaps for us and provide continuity and she was with us when dad died. However, they deploy her elsewhere for reasons that none of us can quite fathom other than what I suspect, which is that I think they don't like to encourage any dependency so that they maintain flexibility amongst the staff on their books enabling them to move carers around the chessboard with greater ease. It is frustrating and upsetting especially at such times as these.
