Oooh...Spooky.

Halloween's origins date back to the ancient Celtic Festival of Samhain. The Celts who lived about 2,000 years ago in Ireland, UK and Northern France, celebrated their New Year on November 1st, which marked the end of summer and beginning of dark, cold winter, a time often associated with human death. The Celts believed that October 31st was the boundary between the worlds of the living and dead when  they blurred. It was thought that the ghosts returned to earth, causing trouble and damage to crops. The presence of these spirits made it easier for the Druids ( Celtic Priests) to predict the future.  These facts I found out to inform the grandchildren who were asking questions. Still an eerie time for some !
