If in doubt...

...get the poppies out (again - sorry). I know I keep photographing poppies but I love their shapes and colours in all stages of their development. To me they are the ballerinas of the flower world. I tried these in sunlight and evening light and the later pictures definitely came out better which is so weird because what my eyes see when I'm photographing in sunlight is much better than in softer light. It's all to do with understanding the camera and its light processing mechanism which I'm finding fascinating to learn about.

I didn't work today but I've had a really busy day as I'm working the rest of the week so I tried to do all those 'catching up' bits and pieces that you don't have time for when you're working. I did some paperwork this morning and then popped into town to buy birthday cards and a few other things. After a quick cuppa at home, I went swimming and afterwards I nipped out with my middle son to buy some new trainers before picking my eldest up from his work experience placement.
