Tree lined

The trees that line the sides of many French roads are under threat.  Many have been there since Napoleonic times and they are an instantly recognisable part of the French countryside.  They are also the cause of many deaths involving incautious drivers.  There is talk of uprooting some of them especially in our village where the roots are disturbing the road surface and where pedestrians are forced to walk around them at the entrance to the village where there is no pavement.  It would be such a shame to lose such beautiful specimens.
