More Patti

After a much needed lay-in we caught the train to London for a day of some of my favourite things. Our first stop was the Photographers Gallery to have a look at the new exhibitions and grab a cup of tea. We then went to the Wolseley for a fancy lunch; we were given a voucher as a wedding gift, and loved experiencing something we wouldn't have done otherwise. The interior was gorgeous, and atmosphere lively and bustling. We had an amazing meal including a delicious cocktail and even black forest gateaux dessert. We were so stuffed afterwards, and flopped on the tube up to Chalk Farm. G sniffed out a pub showing the rugby final; I had a quick lemonade before going to join the queue outside the Roundhouse. As soon as the final whistle blew, G came and joined me where we waited and waited for the doors to open. Finally, the time came, and we secured our spot on the barrier. Patti and her band were as incredible as ever; the show marked the 40th anniversary of Horses, which they played in full. The songs, and Patti herself remain as passionate, and vital as ever. After the album run through they played more songs including 'our song'- our first (and last!) dance at our wedding, which was just wonderful. G even got me one of the roses that decorated the drums at the end of the show!
