Not That Kind Of Girl
G and I spent the day in London, in the amazing unseasonably hot sunshine. We went to see the poppies at the Tower again; along with thousands and thousands of others. The crowds were crazy, I'm so glad I went a few weeks ago with Mum and was able to have a proper look. We spent a while battling through the people, and ate our packed lunch by the river. It was then on to the Constructing Worlds exhibition at the Barbican and a stroll through the city to meet a friend in Covent Garden for a couple of tasty craft beers and veggie feast at Food For Thought. We all walked, a bit tispy, across the river, and left Al on Southbank as we had tickets for a talk from Lena Dunham and Cailin Moran. It was way less self-congratulatory than I'd feared and an awesome couple of hours of chat by strong, opinionated women.
We grabbed more booze for the train home, which probably informed our decision to head to a house party at a friends who has recently moved back. It turned out to be less 'party' and more 'relaxed gathering', and was a brilliant way to end the day.
