~ ET phone home ~
Went to the raptor center today. I like Sunday's much better. Learning so much more from this group of people.
This is a picture of Roland. He was found yesterday along the highway. They can't see anything wrong with him. They think he may of been in shock when found but it doing great today. They showed me how to put my fingers on his breast bone and how to measure how much the breastbone sticks up above the muscle. A few millimeters is normal and more than 4mm suggests that the owl is underfed. Roland was perfect. It was amazing touching an owl.
I was also shown how to inject medicine down a turkey vultures throat.
After all this I met a friend at a park and she wanted me to take pics of her Grandson. It was pouring down rain and she still wanted some pictures. No complaints from him being he is only 2 1/2 years. He had a blast, more than I can say I did.
Extra picture is of Roland in his cage. A bit dark. The 2nd picture is of Aiden.
