Oxford-onthebus
After a relaxing time at Jenny's g'parents we thought we might make the most of our trip ever-so-slightly-north-of-London by checking out Oxford as neither of us have been before. We did the classic Park & Ride number & saw the sights & sounds of the city by an open top bus tour. It was brilliant, gave us a real feel for the place, its architecture & its history.
Pictured is the Sheldonian Theatre, designed by Christopher Wren, which plays host to the graduation & matriculation (lol) of the University students. It's quite stunning, much like most of the buildings in Oxford. We liked the big stone heads that make up part of the gates in the blip above, they were quite imposing.
Other highlights of the ride included St. John's College where Tony Blair studied Law & the local pub of J.R.R. Tolkien & C.S. Lewis, the Eagle and Child.
