Halloween- apple bobbing, sack racing, egg racing

Another fun day at the Restart Children's Centre in Gilgil, Kenya. We currently have two gap year volunteers who are here with us for three months, Lucinder and Harry. On Sunday they decided to organise a Halloween themed activity afternoon for the children. The children had never been involved in anything like this before as Halloween celebrations do not seem to have made their way to Kenya. The children were split into 8 teams and took part in sack races, egg and spoon races, apple bobbing and eating donoughts dangling from a piece of string. Much laughter ensued from both participants and spectators. I took many photos of the events but most ended up blurred due to me being unable to hold the camera still due to laughing so much. The one I chose was of the toddlers sat in line waiting for their prizes (they were more spectators than paricipants), and cheeky little Peter was paying more attention to me than the person giving out the prizes.
