Nuts for Lunch Again
Tufty filling up with nuts to get through the chilly times we are having.
The fog hasn't lifted all day and it seems soooo cold, brrrrrrr.
I had a real panic this morning as all my Microsoft specific software ground to a halt and stopped working ........especially when the Excel file I had been using for my daughters accounts wouldn't open and a pop up said the file was damaged :-((( I wasted hours trying to find out what the problem was......not easy when File Explorer, Task Manager, Control Panel and Internet Explorer refused to open too. I shut down and rebooted several times to no avail.......each time taking ages. Then I remembered I had installed Firefox when Blip went through it's problems last year and after quite a lot of gentle persuasion I managed to locate and open it. Google wouldn't search at all but at least I could get into my emails and sort them out. The broadband was still really slow so it took ages but at least I now had some internet access. I decided to try yet another reboot and as it closed down Windows did an update.......when it started up again and I tried my Microsoft software they all worked perfectly again....phew, phew and thrice phew, I was very relieved I didn't have to do that Excel file again :-)) I reckon someone at Microsoft cocked up an update before the weekend and have only just put it right......well, it's the only explanation I can come up with!!
It hasn't sorted out the really slow broadband and Google still doesn't work but it's definitely an improvement to how it was before :-))
