Autumn Meadowhawk

I was so happy to see a dragonfly today!  I thought they were all gone by now but as I was walking around the ponds this beauty landed on my shoulder.  Then he flew to the fence and posed in the sun for me.  My book says that the Autumn Meadowhawks are one of the last dragonflies to fly in the fall and can even survive moderate frosts.  It has been really warm but snow is in the forecast for later in the week so he may be the last one I see until Spring.
