Jim Weinrich
Jim Weinrich giving the closing presentation at Scotland JS. Without wanting to hurt anyone else's feelings it was the best slot of the day. Not that the code presented or the techniques shown were of great use in everyday coding but his skills as a presenter and his ability to communicate a complex subject like creating the Y-Combinator in javascript were truly impressive. Probably due to his rewriting of the rules for a closing presentation as you can see.
No time to write up everything now but it was a great day out and a much longer evening than expected spent in the company of new friends, I doubt The Cask and Barrel has ever seen so many geeks together in one go.
Edit
First talk of the day came from Peter Cooper, who gave us a potted history of the interent in general and javascript's place within that history. Whilst interesting I have to say that for me personally, having been involved in the internet since around 1996, much of it was ground I'd already covered. It was a nice trip down memory lane though, and was best summed up by a later reference in another presentation "LOL DHTML MENUS".
