The crypt in St Mary's cathedral Sydney

It is beautiful. We wanted to find the stone and information to the first archbishop in Sydney John Bede Polding and expected a dark dingy area, how wrong. The marble has a warm look about it, and the workmanship and colours of the Celtic cross are wonderful to see in real life.

Later a visit to the gallery of New South Wales to catch up on the artists we came across in the Melbourne Gallery, loved it here, followed by a wander around the gallery of contempory art. As always interesting but perhaps two galleries in one day is not a good idea. A wet day, we had to wear coats, it's ages since needing to do that.
The two extras show the marble and work within the Celtic cross
