The bathers

This was taken by the beach in Pafos (or is it Paphos?) today, whilst waiting for lunch. 

Earlier we had enjoyed some more ruins archeology with plenty of superb mosaics, notably in the House of Dionysus, where a large party of French visitors were having a rather loud guided tour. It was also, I believe, mostly inaccurate as the guide kept going on about Theseus and the Minotaur who, as far as I could see, did not feature on any of the mosaics near where they were standing. I enjoyed one fragment, entitled The First Wine Drinkers.

Other highlights included a small tame bird (chaffinch?) an unexpected lighthouse/theatre combo (only one of which was actually Roman) and a most relaxing beach bar.
