Matsumoto Castle, Nagano Prefecture.

This is one of the most photographed (and photogenic) places in the whole of Japan.
It is also uniquely well preserved - never damaged in attacks,, never fired nor bombed - and therefore in fabulously good condition
It is the spectacular mediaeval, moated castle in Matsumoto, dating from the 16th Century.
We are staying in Matsumoto for a few days - near son James and family before returning to the UK.
I took a couple of dozen shots and liked this one best.
