The young pretender

This morning I went to the grounds of Powis Castle at Welshpool with  my Birdwatching group. There weren't many birds around but there was a red deer stag with his harem feeding on the grass. This young male was some distance away but was probably keeping an eye on the herd. Perhaps it will be his turn next year!

We also went to Llyn Coed Y Dinas Nature Reserve. Some saw a kingfisher but it had gone before I spotted it.
