Plowin's Done
Spent a couple of hours this morning at Dudley Farm Historic State Park which is located in Newberry, Florida, a town just west of Gainesville. The Farm is kept as an authentic working farm covering 325 acres. There are 21 historic buildings and 13 structures, including the Dudley family farmhouse (see today's 'extra photo') with its original furnishings, an 1880's kitchen outbuilding, and a general store and post office. There are living historians who perform chores in period clothing. Many historic activities and festivals are held there during the year such as Plow Days and Cane (Sugar) Days.
