Cruising the coast of Uruguay

Uruguay essentially has two parts to the country - 1 The outback, cowboys and 12 million cows (which is A LOT considering the whole country's population is only 3.3 million) and - 2 The coastline on the west coast of the country spotted with little villgaes which come alive only from Dec - Mar.

Craving our tans and the beach we chose the coastal route to lead us to Brazil. First stop Piriapolis. Tiny town, nice boardwalk, white sand but as it's out of season the weather wasn't quite warm enough for us to put our swimmers on. One night is a hostel which we had all to ourselves was more than enough.

And yes they are marijuana plants above, growing nicely on the rooftop of our hostel! The stuff is legal in Uruguay and most of the locals we run into are mellowed out, including the 60 year old ladies walking next to you at the markets smoking a joint haha!
