Surgery

Things I did today: take pictures of a surgery.
Things I never expected I would do today (or ever really): take pictures of a surgery.
Things I am proud of: the fact that I did not pass out.
I'm not even sure how I ended up in the surgery room. But there I was, wearing scrubs and trying not to get in the way as the doctor removed part of a woman's thyroid. It was the size of a small football. It was incredible. I literally watched a man change someone's entire life in under an hour. She'd been living with this condition for years. And tomorrow she'll wake up to a new life. Pretty cool.
