Snail amongst the crabs
It was definitely the complete opposite of a 'mad dogs and Englishmen' day today. The only creatures active in the garden at midday were a wren, a dunnock, two robins and this Brown-lipped Snail. The snail seemed to be very happy cruising the branches of one of the crab-apple trees, which is now weighed down with bright orange-yellow fruits fast turning into miniature stewed apple treats. I was surprised not to see more snails and slugs taking delight in the conditions, but to be honest, I only braved the rain for a few minutes to get this shot.
