Exciting Prospects Ahead
Today I received my Open University enrolment pack and previously requested "Childhood and Youth" brochures.
I have decided to up my existing Teaching Assistant qualification from a Diploma of Higher Education in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Primary Schools which I gained some many years ago when I first left Secondary School to a Foundation Degree in Primary Teaching and Learning.
I already have experience working as a Teaching Assistant before I became unwell and unable to work back in 2013 and interestingly this previous experience reduces the default amount of study hours from 120 to 65!
So, I have an exciting journey ahead of me. Now, I've got to fill out my student loan application and enrol on the course by January 7th next year. Ooh, exciting!
This course will be invaluable to me as I hope to go back and work in the classroom again one day in the future.
On another note, fireworks have been going off all over the place round here. Cats are petrified. Looking out of the window for brief periods this evening showed me how pretty they can be these days.
The village primary school did an amazing display early this evening whilst locals have been setting them off too. Why pay the £15 entry fee when I can sit indoors with a nice cup of cocoa in my heated house and look out of the bedroom window at them.
It was spectacular and must have cost a few bob for them to put on the show. Grumps said that I should feel ashamed and send a donation into the school reception on Monday morning with a confession telling them what I did.
Maybe I will attend next years display and buy two tickets. On the other hand, maybe not. I've done plenty for that school over the years.
21:30 Its all quiet here now. I can hear only the humming of the refrigerator and the ticking of my watch. Let's hope it stays like that for the rest of the night.
So, that's today's blip done. I'm off to bed.
G'nite !! :)
