Bonfire night selfie
How late I am posting tonight!
Firstly, I have to say an enormous thank you for all your generosity on yesterday's FF. It's currently on page one of the populars, something that hasn't happened to me for a very long time (and which I don't usually aspire to!)
So, today's - well tonight was Winchester's mammoth firework event, which is organised every year by the Round Table and raises oodles of money for charity. It is a long-standing Winchester tradition and nearly everyone living in the city comes along. It's held in the park just down from my house.
I spent the afternoon cooking a recipe I'd pulled off the internet for a remarkably nice spicy chicken casserole as my son and his lovely partner were paying us a flying visit between trips abroad (back from Berlin today, off to South Africa and the Seychelles on Thursday. All right for some). We did get to see the fireworks - a bit on the hop - but I knew I'd have very little time for blipping so before they arrived I did a lightening strike on the start of the torchlit procession. This was taken on the Broadway, just outside the Guildhall. A fetching young couple taking the obligatory torchlit selfie. Yes, I thought it was rather sweet too.
Because of the lateness and my thorough exhaustion, I think I'll comment in the morning, if you'll forgive me. I need sleeeeeeep!!
Goodnight xx
