Jakarta

Saying goodbye in Bangkok was much harder than I had anticipated. On the plane to Jakarta it hit me how different Chiang Mai would be when I returned- most of my friends would have left along with most of the staff of my generation at work. I contemplated whether I could stand this constant change, people always coming and going, getting quickly close to people only for them to disappear from life too soon. It's just an integral part of being an ex-pat, this cycle. I decided that it's probably exhausting in the end.

New food: whatever that chicken skewer thing was. First Indonesian food was promising.
