Swan Song
C is working the other side of Birmingham today, so he was up around 5-ish to walk the dogs and then he brought me my breakfast and a pot of tea in bed before he left the house. I was just waiting for my alarm to go off when I realised that there was a golden glow coming through the curtains, so I had a quick peek and went and grabbed my camera.
It was the most glorious sunrise, but lasted only minutes. These swans on a fly-past just added to the pleasure.
We went to a firework party and supper at the other end of the village last night, and it was another lovely evening. As the hosts' house is surrounded by fields and animals, they requested "quiet fireworks" and the display was excellent. It goes to show that you can have lovely fireworks with all the "oooohs" and "aaaahhhs" without the loud noises which frighten animals.
This is from our bedroom window, and is untouched apart from a slight crop. Having blipped a cygnet yesterday, it's funny that I should have some more swans today.
P.S. It's better seen large.
